Overall Rating

3.6 /5

The Overall Rating is the average of all the ratings given in each category. We take those individual ratings and combine them into one final score!

2.5/5 - Overview of Role
4/5 - Skills Development
3.2/5 - Structure and Support

Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
2/5
The role involves calling out to small-medium enterprise customers to discuss and identify business priorities.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
The program has some ups and downs. The Chartered Banker Institute qualification that I am studying for and obtaining through the apprenticeship is fantastic. The other Kaplan elements such as knowledge statements, case studies, and scorecards seem very tickbox-y. Overall the ability to work in a large organisation with fantastic opportunities and prospects, being treated equally to your peers, outweighs these hassles.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, I have had a vast amount of opportunity to volunteer for public speaking events, gain a wealth of knowledge in commercial banking and work in a team to bring about change in a large organisation.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I'd say it's very structured, but could be improved by having structured rotations for the first two years to allow for apprentices to gain a broader array of experience and skills.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I am completely and utterly equal to other colleagues with more years of experience in the bank. I feel encouraged to take on opportunities and be ambitious.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
The tutor is good, but because it's conducted online there isn't as much opportunity for 1 to 1 support and the '''talent coaches''' don't observe you enough to get to know you or make a fair assessment on who you are, thus not knowing what support you need.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I think that having the CBI modules help think of the financial sector through a thoughtful and academic lens. This aids my daily work, but I think that ultimately it's the individuals character that helps them perform.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
I think for a large organisation, Lloyds is very good on this front and there's always lots going on at each site. I would love to see more professional networking events.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Lloyds Banking Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend Lloyds Banking Group depending on the role. I think Lloyds have fantastic colleague welfare and have so many different opportunities to learn and grow (and collegaue development is a groupwide focus).
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
Take on opportunities regardless of how challenging/uncomfortable it may be, because there are lots of rewarding experiences you can get involved in. Also with colleague development being so integral to the group, take advantage by talking to managers and different teams to gain understanding of what your career next steps may look like.
