Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day to day basis, it include both practical and theory. spending the majority of the day 'on the job learning' with some time in the week to work on my portfolio and college work etc. my role involves the installation and termination of cables/ devices as well as understanding drawings etc.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I would say that although there is a lot to learn and some skills aren't easy to pick up, but with the support of all the staff from early careers and also my collegues out on placements, it makes for an enjoyable learning experience where I feel confident that I can ask if I'm not sure

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Coming in to the apprenticeship from school, I lacked in practical skill as well as being in the working environment. i feel a lot more confident working in an engineering environment now and this is thanks to the more experienced colleagues that support me on a day-to-day basis.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Ensure that you research the company well and have well prepared for the interview. Think about what behaviours you think would be beneficial and how you could bring them to the company (ie - being integral, creative, stratigic etc)
