Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work in the 2-3 year old garden, we are an outdoor setting. I am a key person to 4 children. I set up activities aimed at the children’s’ interests, change nappies, engage the children in play, serve meals, encourage them taking, sharing and kindness, and role model these things too
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my role within the nursery, and the job itself. I do feel there is too much coursework to be able to keep up with, aswell as working 40hrs a week & having a busy home life.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

On a personal level, I feel I have developed my patience and empathy. On a professional level, I feel I have learnt to work well in a team.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is easy to navigate on the website, and my apprenticeship mentor within the setting is very organised. We meet weekly so that I can seek any guidance from her that I may need.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer has appointed an in house apprenticeship mentor that I meet with once a week, this has been very helpful
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My apprenticeship accessor always answers emails swiftly, and stays in regular contact. We have a zoom call once a month to discuss my progress.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The coursework I am doing does definitely help to deepen my understanding of why we do things the way we do them whilst in the setting.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We do have a summer festival, a winter festival and parents breakfast mornings
