Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
My role involves managing properties on behalf of landlords consisting of debt management / income analysis / conducting rent reviews / lease reading / managing vacant properties / liaising with internal and external stakeholders on property disposals / service charge management / site inspections.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy learning new aspects of the role whilst working with internal / external stakeholders during my role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
There are many skills I have learnt including problem solving / lease reading / time management / attention to detail / report writing

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The structure has organizational elements however I feel there may need to be more of a focus on individuals who are fixed in a team in terms of being able to gain more experience from other teams in a streamlined manner as opposed to rushing organising such experience.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
I receive support in terms of having access to study days / being able to reach out to members of the team and the office to receive advice and knowledge to help develop my knowledge and understanding.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
Savills do have a good support system consisting of internal / external training days which supports working towards becoming qualified, however there is a heavy emphasis on individuals needing to carry out a lot of work to ensure they stay ahead and not fall behind.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
I find the qualification helps in terms of developing my knowledge and understanding of key concepts and theory so that I can advise clients better within the parameters of my knowledge and remit.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
I help organise a sports night with fellow graduates / apprentices which I find most beneficial in terms of switching off from work / studying and this allows me to look forward to something in the day as well.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Savills to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I feel that the culture is a place where people can develop their knowledge and skills to perform well whilst being able to have a career within the built environment.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills?
There are many pieces of advice I could provide to people applying for Savills however I think the main point is to keep your head down in terms of wanting to work hard / learn / develop but also to keep your head up as every day is a learning day / looking out for new opportunities to develop working relationships.
