As an internal auditor, I spend 80% of my time ensuring risk management and control environments function properly. I test risks that could impact the firm's objectives and controls to mitigate or prevent these risks. This involves thorough testing and evaluation to ensure effective risk management and control measures.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the programme greatly. It allows me to explore various aspects of the bank, from non-financial to financial risks, and get closer to customers or complex systems used in apps. The many placements in audit enable me to work with different teams within the bank.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I have learned new skills such as time management, communicating with stakeholders, and hosting meetings. Additionally, I have developed my analytical skills through the use of software like Excel and our bespoke tools.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well structured. Kaplan provides teachings and resources to study. The work itself is very good, with clear roles and responsibilities, with the chance of even going outside of that. There is plenty of training available, and the team has been really supportive of this.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

LBG provides substantial support, allowing us time to study for exams and offering assistance with Kaplan. The placements are structured to aid our studying, giving us exposure to different subjects that could be asked in exams. This support helps us succeed in our academic and professional endeavors.
