I'm responsible for delivering role-specific learning across our shops, which can include product knowledge, selling or technical skills. I consult with a wide-range of subject matter experts and support in delivering training in the most relevant and value-adding way possible.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I loved my experience. I've often been guilty of putting my own development to one side: there's always the day job to do, and there's never a good time to step back and reflect! The apprenticeship gave me the structure and support to help me improve.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've learnt a great deal about best practice within the Learning & Development profession. In particular, how best to start the journey, ensuring specific goals related to a clear business outcome in order to add the most value.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I was really easily able to track my progress throughout the programme, and the support I had from my coach helped keep me on track, motivated, and clear on areas to focus on.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I couldn't ask for more support! My manager was so supportive, and we had regular check-ins to ensure I was able to manage the 'day job', while protecting my time to complete my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I had fantastic support from my coach, who not only helped keep me on track, really supported me on my journey, ensuring I was clear on expectations and gave consistent and frequent feedback on my progress.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Before I started my apprenticeship, in certain circumstances I felt the weight of 'imposter syndrome'. Completing the qualification gave me the knowledge and skills to approach any situation with greater confidence and credibility. It has allowed me to challenge more, but based on evidence and backed with the right knowledge.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are so many societies and events to get involved in! The great thing is, you can try things out in a no-pressure environment, and it helps you network and build confidence. There are loads of networks too, that provide a safe space to support and connect with each other.

Why?
I get so much out of working in the Partnership. As a co-owner I benefit from freedom to deliver in a way that is authentic to me, and to grow both professionally and personally. With that comes responsibility to play my part in that for others too, which I love.
