Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day begins with checking emails, tickets and queries with work requests to prioritise. I am often approached for technical and data knowledge to support the business understanding of the context, rules or definitions of data we hold. I could be running a regular or ad-hoc report, sharing operational tasks to make sure we manage our data in a compliant way. I may work in a high-profile project in data analysis or business analysis. I use many tools from databases and use my coding skills to analyse or extract and transform data. I use Artificial Intelligence on a daily basis to augment my work, run processes efficiently or use machine learning to predict or cluster using data. On a daily basis I work with a range of technical, governance and business teams to solve business isues and work on increasing data quality.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoyed my level 7 artificial intelligence and data science apprenticeship.
It was hard but really fun learning new skills.
I was able to pick a project I was passionate about and learn the skills on how to solve that business problem, a real highlight was the output and the business value I added.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Learning how to interact with AI, use this and now I have an army of AI bots doing everything from helping me with my wellbeing to writing reviews or helping produce my documentation. I now have an AI copilot helping me model data to make it available for the business to use, which in turn, helps the business make data-driven decisions faster. I have learnt all the data science basics and now use this skills during my job on larger projects.

I have an Innovation Series blog that I now run, showcasing the "being brave" with my new AI skills.
The time I have saved and now coaching others how to do the same thing has revolutionised how I am working.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are many clubs, societies and networks.
I have 2 additional responsibilities at my work, the Health and Wellbeing Champion and a democratic Local Forum Representative.
