To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I fully enjoy all aspects of my programme, including course content, practical training, and the ability to apply theoretical/practical learning directly in my day-to-day job.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Emergency blue light response driving is a new skill which is essential to my role.
Developing existing communication skills which are adaptable during difficult situations such as language barriers for patient assessment, or conflict resolution.
The development of Basic life support skills, in conjunction with new skills such as advanced airway management.
Learning intravenous cannulation techniques.
Understanding and applying patient assessment techniques.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Overall, the programme is organised very well. Expectations for both written and practical elements are clearly defined and structured appropriately to ensure the best possible learning outcome and successful completion of the apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have received outstanding support from my employer. This applies to both the written and practical elements, for which my employer has demonstrated a high level of competence and knowledge in ensuring I reached my goals to pass the course.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I received full support in the form of general course expectations, timescales to completion, one-to-one coaching sessions, assistance with coursework queries and knowledge support for completing written and practical work.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Without the qualification it would take considerably longer to understand the knowledge and skills required to effectively and safely perform the job. The North East Ambulance Service are an outstanding training provider with an abundance of expertise and excellent training facilities which create an optimal environment to enhance the qualification.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I am currently involved in the North East Ambulance Service Community Engagement Team, where I will be attending community events to share my knowledge and skills from within my job role with the general public.
