Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is to gain experience in the nuclear industry while being training to become a suitably qualified and experienced person through taking on increasingly more difficult tasks over the course of my apprenticeship. All whilst studying my degree.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the opportunities the programme offers as well as the experience on real projects, where my work has an effect on mainstream projects. I also like the idea of also getting a degree through the company

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Skills I have learnt: 3D design, report writing, basic pipeline recognition, document control, hydraulics

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme I am currently on has a well structured secondment placement in place which allows for apprentices to get a taste of different projects that offer different skills
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I recieve plenty of support whether that be help with project work or support with regards to software issues
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The college holds a meeting once every 12 weeks for me and my trainer to discuss my progress at work and on the college scheme. On top of this the college has a platform where i can access work which has been taught as well as access the courses plan for the 5 years.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It provides me with multiple different engineering formulas and theories which i can apply to my role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There have been multiple networking events as well as anual social events (e.g. christmas )

Be patience as it is a contractors firm, work is not always promised though you regulary do recieve new work
