Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Liaising between Engineering office and coastal Lifeboat stations in the roll out of engineering change.
Acting as regional engineering helpdesk, answering/escalating technical queries.
Line management of Regional maintenance planner.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I has been a little full on at times balancing the needs of the job with the needs of the apprentice, but I am generally enjoying learning and developing news skills which I am able to put into practice.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Learning key management skills which I have been able to put into practice as a new manager. Skills such as motivating a team, emotional intelligence and various H.R policies.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive good support from my employer, especially as this is my second apprenticeship. However, as I work in a matrix organisational structure not everyone knows I am doing an apprenticeship and this has caused confusion and conflict at times

As a new line manager undertaking the CMI level 3 apprenticeship is perfect training for my needs
