Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I work within the Rural Management Team within the Rural & Projects division at Savills. In my role, I am responsible for the management of rural estates on behalf of a diverse range of clients including institutional and private organisations. Day-to-day the role involves property management services such as preparing annual budgets, instructing maintenance, repairs and improvements works, conducting rent reviews, undertaking annual inspections, the collections of arrears and the granting of agricultural tenancies to list just a few responsibilities.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have thoroughly enjoyed the programme.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learned a range of new skills during the scheme. For example, communication, negotiation, information management, critical thinking, proactivity and teamwork.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is well structured with a clear path set-out in terms of my route to qualification. Working in a rural surveying role, the only downside has been the commercial surveying focus of the Masters course provided by the University College of Estate Management. However, there is more than adequate support available from colleagues and a willingness to provide the necessary experience and exposure in order to develop.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer including frequent graduate training events, CPD opportunities and a great deal of support from colleagues across teams, divisions and offices.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive the necessary amount of support from my training provider during the qualifications process.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
As stated above, the focus of the course is commercial which means there can sometimes be a lack of applicability to my day job. However, the course is fantastic in terms of organisation, quality of teaching and content. It provides all the basics required to perform my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
There is not a great deal of extra-curricular within my office.
