Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Interacting with the audit team and the client. Completing tasks such as documenting invoices, payslips and bank statements. Also been allocated admin work on some occasions.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Overall I enjoyed it quite a lot. There were some occasions where I had to work very long hours and it could feel very tiring during those moments, however that is to be expected during busy season. The rest of the time was fun and exciting as no task felt too stressful to handle.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

For technical skills, I have learnt how to use the PwC audit software, as well as developed my fluency in Microsoft Excel. In addition, I have also learnt how to work effectively in a team and managing large amounts of tasks from different people with different deadlines.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Pretty well structured. On a large majority of days, I was allocated tasks during the morning meetings which lasted me throughout the entire day. There were some days where I finished early or had less tasks to complete, but I had no issue reaching out to help others on the team.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I received quite a lot of support as if I had any questions or issues with my work, I could always reach out to members of my team who were more than willing to help. There were also support sessions with a career coach to make sure that I had settled in smoothly and that things were going well.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

At the end of the flying start programme, I will be exempt from 12/15 of my accounting exams plus also gaining a year's worth of work experience which will be instrumental in working towards my ICAEW qualification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that completing the ICAEW exams throughout my university semesters (especially Audit and Assurance) helped me prepare for working with an audit team, as that helped me learn the theory behind audit before putting it into practice.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, there were many social networks to get involved in to cater for everyone's needs. For example, as a Muslim I attended the Iftar event that was hosted by the PwC Muslim network during Ramadan, and had an incredible experience.

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is in my opinion the best route if you have the intention of becoming a chartered accountant, and to fast track your career to give you advantage over your peers.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Research the firm and its values, and make yourself stand out from the crowd.
