Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Using coding and software tools such as Adobe Analytics to harness and extract customer data. Using tools such as Excel to complete data analysis. Communicating and presenting findings from analysis using dynamic visualisation tools such as Power BI, to shape strategies and drive change.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have had an extremely rewarding experience as a data apprentice here at LBG. I’ve had the opportunity to use previously unexplored data insights, to drive tangible change in our mobile banking app. I’ve also grown my network across the group, and work with inspiring colleagues everyday.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learned how to code in 2 different coding languages with no prior experience. I have improved my stakeholder management skills, married with my presentation and collaboration skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My programme is structured so that I spent 80% (4 days a week) of my time competing my day-to-day role & 20% (1 day a week) of my time studying for my apprenticeship. I’ve also attended learning courses hosted by my training provider to ensure we are learning the key skills needed to excel in the apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive an abundance of support from different colleagues at LBG. Some colleagues are supporting me with my day-to-day tasks, to ensure I am gaining the relevant experience needed. Some colleagues provide mentorship and guidance for excelling in my career, while other colleagues are there to specifically support me with assignments and data learning.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I received support from my training provider through residential training courses, regular check ins & feedback on my assignments and progression.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Through obtaining my qualification, I’ve been able to gain the relevant skills and experiences needed to excel as a data analyst. Through completing an apprenticeship and working at LBG, I’ve had a practical, hands-on learning experience where I can apply my newly acquired skills in the workplace. Furthermore, I’ve also gained softer-skills such as stakeholder engagement and impactful presenting.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are lots of networks and extra curricular activities to be involved with at LBG. This includes sporting events, artistic events & community events.

Yes
Why?
The inclusive and innovative culture at LBG is portrayed through all colleagues, leaving employees feeling valued and motivated to make a change.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
I’d encourage all candidates to keep an open mind when applying for an apprenticeship, and this means looking into different business areas that you may not have considered before. I’d suggest that aspiring apprentices do their research into different organisations to ensure their personal values align with the business’ values. Make sure to be yourself throughout the application process!!
