To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme although I am curios to see what else is our there in terms of roles. I enjoy the learning aspect of my apprenticeship as I have the time to learn new skills and topics, into as much depth as I want. I enjoy the community of my peers and tutors. This makes is easy to reach out and ask for help.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my people skills, being bold, being enquisitive, taking my own initiative, I have learnt a variety of technical skills including coding in different languages. I have also improved on my communication skills.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

At the beginning I was confused as to what was going on. There was a lot of information at the start and I found it really difficult to digest and remember everything. I enjoyed the sessions where the apprentices all came in as it was really useful to utilise other peoples skills after making friends.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

When I nees help with something my manager is always there. I feel like when I am stuck or need guidance on something I can alywas reach out. I find it useful that we have catchup meetings to dicuss anything thats on my mind.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Lots of support from my training provider coach. They always answer emails and there is alwyas an option to book in a 1-1 with them whenever I need. They send out lots of useful information in regards to the apprenticeship and the KSBs.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Gaining the knowledge and skills to be able to become a software engineer. Although Firebrand do not know how Lloyds operates the learning sessions are generalised so the skills that we are developing from those sessions become transferable.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes. I have been involved in a lot of voulentery work, there are after work socialising events that take place, we go out for lunch.

Would you recommend Lloyds Banking Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Inclusive community, friendly colleagues, lots of room for growth and improvement, learning oppurtunities, we get invovled in lots of charity work to help the wider community, the banks goals allign with mine, working with partners to plant trees for example or helping the homeless initiatives.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
Do not worry if you feel you do not have the same skillset as everyone else, you will learn, be taught and supported along the way. Go for it!!
