Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I manage and lead construction projects. Reviewing technical document whilst ensuring their alignment with industry standards. Working in teams to deliver minor and major transportation projects.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have fallen in love with my apprenticeship. Every day is a different experience and due to being on 6 month placement rotations you are able to gain a very wide exposure to all parts of the engineering project.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Developed great interpersonal skills and technical engineering skills. Management of staff and delegation of work activities.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
There is no formal structure in terms of the different placements and teams you can work is. This is good and bad as when you start you don't know the type of work you would best get on with. However this can be good as it will get you more experience than you would in other firms. Also other apprentices will assist you with choosing the teams to work in.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Having a placement manager, line manager, and scheme sponsor may sound like a lot however they are all interested in you developing your skills and will dedicate time to you personally for your progression along the scheme.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The university is pretty standard when it comes to delivery of content and examinations. Some processes can be clunky but overall it is workable.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It gives me the basis technical knowledge in order to undertake my job.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are a load of different social teams, sports teams, quizzing teams and educational teams available.
