Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Supply transparency to manufacturing areas, by providing reliable data from a specialized function, to enhance production efficiency and ensure high-quality standards in our manufacturing processes.
We guide manufacturing areas to prioritize sustainable decision-making while optimizing resources.
Tasks
Supporting technologies with IE activities such as:
•Verifying process times
•Supporting line balancing
•Headcount steering & AWP
•Waste reduction
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
the programme is very enjoyable and fun, purely because i am trusted to carry out work on my own and given projects to handle by myself, so it makes me feel like i actually have a purpose within my team rather than just being told what to do and how to do it.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes I've learnt project management skills, and have also developed data analytics skills which are beneficial to my job role for my day to day tasks. These skills were developed and learnt through running meetings and being given the lead role in projects.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
the structure of the programming is very well done via the company however the training provider structure is very questionable and at some points appalling with little to no structure, with the training provider not knowing what its meant to be teaching to inexperienced teachers and not being able to keep transparency to students on what is happening
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
the employer is very supportive, they make sure you are feeling comfortable and confident on the work before giving you a task or project and they will sign you up to as many different trainings as you want and really encourage you to push yourself and put yourself out there to build a positive image of yourself within the company
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
Very low support, and the only reason its not a complete 0 is because there is a few teachers that actually are very helpful and actually seem to care about us and making sure we understand the work we are doing, most time we are left wondering what to do and don't understand what the work we're meant to be doing is, feedback on assignments is horrendous with no actual helpful feedback.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
in regards to the actual qualification it will be very helpful and support me within my job role and career, however the training provider makes it very difficult to see that clearly. but my qualification will allow me to perform my daily tasks with ease and further knowledge than i previously had
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Normally we would have a few things as extra-curriculars, like helping the local primary school to assembly karts and decorate them, to then assisting them on a race day at the Goodwood motor circuit, we also have the ability to go to schools around the area to help with careers day/fairs.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BMW Group UK to a friend?
Yes
Why?
overall the apprenticeship is a good option for someone looking to begin a career, the company will support you and help you develop your skills, they will make sure you are ready to take on a full time job role by the end of your apprenticeship. unfortunately, for the training provider the same cant be said.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
be yourself, don't try to act or portray yourself as someone you aren't, the people hiring you will see right through you, they as a hiring manager want to know you not this persona you've made up. Be confident!
