Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

we start with a sheet of metal that is the correct thickness and then mark out the dimensions that we have from a drawing and then burn out the metal around the marked places, then we grind down/rotary file the edges to the marked out line as its marked
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i have never been into school and have always been interested with physical work like using my hands so when i found out i could have this job i was very happy because working in an office or running food wasnt a very interesting job so this job is good
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

i have learnt how to properly do engineering by using skills such as burning grinding and rotary filing, also the saftey side of it because i had no idea that this much saftey was used in engineering when i started. i found these skills interesting and usefull for my roll

How well organised/structured is your programme?

its well structered in terms of how to do the job and the saftey that has to go in go it such as from when i started i got a good understanding of ppe and how it should be used and the training corses that were in place for me
How much support do you receive from your employer?

good i have a good pension and perks set up for me which i find is better for the idea of me working here but also from the skills coaches who help me as they make sure to help me and give me good tuition in my job and happiness
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

i have good support as i have had proper training like confined space training where they had a trailor which i had to go into and make my way round it and then there was a test at the end where they made sure i had good understanding of it
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

i feel like these training procedures has helped me realise that staying safe is the biggest priority in this job like the multiple corses i have done but also in the workshop as i have been purging the gas lines and air lines whenever i have to leave work spaces
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

we get to go onto or see the submarines rarely which i find exiting and more interactive, it also helps me see what im working for and could be working on in the future and that makes it more exiting to get to work as i have a better ubderstanding

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
its a good business which has many rolls to suit pretty much anyone and it has good benifits so ts hard to not like working for bae, it sounds enticing to hear all of these benefits as i travel 40 miles to work five days a week just to work
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
i would tell them what i went through and what helped me do the online and in person interviews as i have done this with someone before and it has helped them a lot, i would also say how things are going now to give them insight to the job
