Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

the days are broken into theroy and practical. we follow a schedule which outlines the plan for students and work alongside city and guilds pathway to get qualifcation.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i really enjoy the programme and still feel lucky to be doing it, i remind myself of this each day as it helps motivate me knowing how good the opportunity is. i like to do the practical work as this is where i see myself wanting to develop. i am excited to start working and learning the aircraft systems.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

i have learnt new skills, including hand tools and new equipment which i have never used. i have developed on my skills working in a team whilst learning the core fundamentals of the course/ aviation

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

it is very organised and has been since i started, every morning all instructors know where they will be and so will the students. communication is very good and every monday we meet as an acadamy to discuss events and the week ahead.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

i have suffered with mental health issues recently after a family bereavement. work have been very good with me and allowed me any time or space when needed. I feel that if i was to struggle again i would be able to reach out. The safeguarding lead often catches up with me to discuss how im doing. my line manager has been very accommodating and understanding with personal issues.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

we get allocated an hour end of a working day to tie up and loose ends, and the next morning we will recap which betters our learning. we have a assessor team, good team which oversees the qualification and ensures it meets city and guilds training requirements
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

it helps motivate me knowing if i get 75% i will get a CAA cert. this is what motivates me to be the best i can be
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

there is outwood bounds, and some charity events that help get the team and cohorts together. maybe more would be good
