My apprenticeship includes 4 placements in the business to expand my knowledge and experience. I offer my support to the team I am with and attend any meetings that I require to attend. I look at ways of improving the business by sharing opinions and ideas of how to do better.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme to a great extent as they are supportive and encouraging. I feel comfortable raising any concerns and they understand the ways to teach us to develop.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes I have learnt many skills during my time at BAE Systems, the company are actively encouraging apprentices to improve their behaviours, skills and knowledge as they understand in the future it will be us in their position. I have learnt communication skills, project management, time-management, problem-solving and many more.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I would say the programme is moderately organised as they set the training days in advance, they notify us for any reminders and they discuss the full 2 year plan. However, there is some miscommunication in regards to the start of my apprenticeship which halted my progress slightly.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receieve a great amount of support from my placement team and my apprenticeship team. They are willing to answer any questions and listen to any problems. They encourage everyone to do their best and assist us in reaching our personal goals.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive training from BAE Employees however they follow the Pearson's specification which is extremely thorough and concise with the assignment criteria. I am involved with the training provider directly near the end of my apprenticeship for my End Point Assessment.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I believe it provides me with more knowledge of the business environment and how skills and behaviours contribute to the workplace. It provides a foundation to fall back on.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes there are many activities to get involved in, you can join the STEM programme which includes going to schools/colleges to share your experience. BAE Systems has lots of events with external stakeholders and it also has many networking events internally.
