Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am currently in the materials team. Within this role I am responsible for a portfolio. I do daily tasks such as, releasing orders for packing on line, ordering components, managing inventory and doing destructions as well as managing a portal which acts as a source of information.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my apprenticeship. It is challenging and pushes me to develop and learn constantly. I find the role so beneficial as I am able to make a difference in the world by helping deliver medicine to patients whilst I work on my professional development at the same time.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my presentation skills through my apprenticeship as well as improving skills like team work, communication skills and time management skills. There have been many opportunities presented to me within the apprenticeship to enable me to develop my professional and personal skills.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My line manager made a rotation plan for me which clearly identifies the areas of the business I will be placed in at specific times throughout the 4 years. From a university perspective we receive a timetable outlining when we have our lectures and when we will be attending the university in person.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive excellent support from AstraZeneca. Within my 1-2-1 meeting with my manager I can suggest skills I would like to improve and he will aid me in finding courses and opportunities to help develop these skills. I am also helped in terms of university by the entire workplace helping to answer my questions with their expert knowledge which aids my completing assignment to a higher degree.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My lecturers at Aston University are just an email away when it comes to questions around the assignments. My university coach is helpful when it comes to any additional support needed surrounding maths or English support and helps to keep on track with KSBs
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification helps me to understand the legal and technical side of my roles. It informs me of legislation which helps me to understand why processes are done a certain way.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are employee resource groups which organise various events which help me to network, find out more about the business and improve my developmental skills. There is also a gym on site which has classes as well as a football cage which you can play in teams.
