Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I was an Audit Intern and I was tasked to complete documentation and EGAs in my name. I was helping out my team members when I had capacity. I communicated to the client when any issues had risen up in my work.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoyed translating my theory learnt in class to a real world environment. For example, being professionally sceptical is very important and I was more analytical in my documentation.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I developed my communication and critical thinking skills. This came from questioning the client when I had any queries. I further developed my excel skills throughout my placement.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The structure is great as you get both university studies and work placements within 3/4 years on the programme. This allows a variety my professional development.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I received a wide array of support, mainly in the connected development programme within PwC. This attached me to an experienced associate and a senior manager who gave me guidance and navigated me throughout my experience.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
PwC has paid for my ICAEW exams and QMUL gives lessons and study time to teach the learning material in-depth, with mock exams to give ample preparation.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It helps tremendously as the ICAEW exams are directly tied to my work. The Audit and Assurance qualification that I sat right before placement taught me many invaluable skills that I used in my work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There was an audit meal that we had at the end of our engagement with my team members which gave us rest and relaxation after working together for a while.
