Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I usually shadow on customer sites, where I assist in the maintenance of the BMS systems. This includes fault-finding and identifying solutions, as well as completing software and mechanical based tasks. These I complete either independently or under supervision depending on the complexity of the issue.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I massively enjoy my apprenticeship and the program as a whole. The mixture of working full-time, as well as my education and training aspects of the course, have been interesting and detailed. I feel welcome in my role as an apprentice and I am very eager to continue my role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt new skills directly involved with my role, such as using hand tools and working around low voltages. I have also been able to develop my existing skills, including script-writing and other use of software.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I have my education modules every other month, with the dates organised at the start of each year (beginning on September). The rest of my schedule I assist in organising site visits and days to focus on my education and / or any admin that needs completing.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have catch-ups often with my managers, with guidance and support for both my on-site activities and as an apprentice.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I have regular catch-ups with a skills coach, who updates me on my progress and identifies ways I can improve.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification is directly linked to the role I am currently in, with job-specific information and training. This means that, combining with my on-site experience, I am learning exactly the knowledge and skills to use in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
