Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role involved auditing listed and non-listed clients, through performing substantive testing and audit of financial statements to ensure each company is disclosing true and fair financial information
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have enjoyed my time on placement with PwC. Nearly everyone at the firm is very friendly and approachable. Due to the nature of the job, you always tend to have questions, and there are so many different people you can go and talk to find out the answers. It is a good work environment to work in, as well as being offered opportunities to take on new challenges and have new responsibilities.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I developed communication skills through having to contact clients in order to receive the correct piece of evidence. Audit also involves lots of teamwork, so I have managed to develop this skill through working with lots of different people. I have also developed the ability to take more accountability for my own work and ensure it is done to the highest standard possible.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is extremely well organised. There was a plan in place for my arrival, in order to complete onboarding tasks. It was also made clear who to go to with any problems, allowing for a smooth transition into the firm. The flying start champions also check-in with you often to ensure everything is going smoothly.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
There is always lots of support available from PwC. Since you are working with a team to complete jobs, there are always multiple people to ask questions/ seek help from with your individual areas. You also get the chance to ask for coaching through areas you are unsure on which is good for development.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
There is lots of support whilst working towards qualifications. Since there is dedicated time at university to purely focus on your studies, it allows you to concentrate fully on learning and revision and also get support from lecturers. There is plenty of time to learn content and revise, which is useful too.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The course is tailored very well to ensure you are able to get all of the required knowledge and understanding to perform the role to a good standard. There is a purpose behind everything you do, so you don't feel like any time is being wasted.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
At university, there is many clubs you can join, and there are also different events put on for people on the course to take part in and enjoy. At PwC, there are networking events, and also the opportunity to play sports like football with other members of the firm.
