Overview of the Experience

Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
5/5
Developing Audit skills and applying them to real businesses. Tackling a multitude of different areas in the audit procedure from revenue, cost of sales, lead schedules, PPE, goodwill etc. via the use of PwC's systems via the use of excel. It involved talking directly to clients and the team in order to produce the best possible outcome.
To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
5/5
The audit work was interesting and was never the same every day. There was lots of different areas of audit that i was exposed to which allowed me to develop my understanding of audit more and also gain a lot more confidence. The office is friendly and comfortable environment. It's exciting going to client site and interacting with the client and developing my professional skills
How well organised was your work experience?
4/5
We had training for the first month of our placement where we learnt how to approach different scenarios, tackle the audit engagements and then we started in early Jan where we started on client work using our experience and knowledge. There is termly feedback required and we are delegated tasks by higher ups. It was very well organised.
How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
1/5
As its an integrated degree already it firmly solidified my career path in audit/accounting. It gave me a great insight into the corporate world and where I could be during my early -mid 20s as the office is full of very young associates. It gave me a lot of confidence and drive to push to be here once i finish.
Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
5/5
I was paid monthly for my work and reimbursed for any work-related expenses incurred such as trains, taxis and footwear associated with client work. The pay is incredibly good for our age and i feel is appropriate for our workload. No issues whatsoever with the pay.

Skills Development

What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
5/5
Development skills in the use and implementation of excel for auditing procedures. The different formulas learnt allowed me to be effective and efficient during my placement. The additional development of my knowledge of audit and the real world implementation of it has really allowed me to get a greater understanding of audit and accounting allowing me to gain confidence in what work i am doing

Company Culture

How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?
5/5
While at PwC for my placement I got to grips with the company culture and got a good idea of what it would be like to work there. As we were associates working full-time we were a key part of the teams and got fully involved in the work life and its culture.
Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
5/5
Plenty of opportunity to network with employees. You got out what you put in and there was time during meetings, projects and lunch to connect with others. The office is very friendly and made this incredibly easy to network
