Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Going around RAF Coningsby finding out as much information about part M roles and learning on the job.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy this programme as there is always lots to learn.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I am learning about RAF Coningsby Squadrons and the work required in the background to retain aircraft operation.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The first year of the apprenticeship is well organised and from what I have seen if you go part 145 so is the second year. However, if you go part m, the second year is loosely organised. This does make it so you can be proactive and organise your own work which if you're proactive works well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots, there is always someone to help and no one wants to watch you fail.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Lots, we get regular visits from assessors on base.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The first year I feel teaches you a lot and gives you a good base knowledge. In the second year it is very much down to you to gather knowledge and be proactive.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There is outward bounds in the first year when you first start but not much after this.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because it is a good secure company to work for and has many benefits when you're in.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Be open to learning and proactive. Don't be afraid to ask questions, even if you think it may be a stupid question it shows you're wanting to learn.
