Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Managing two teams across two sections of an aerospace fastener manufacturer
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am enjoying my programme and find the skills I am learning incredibly useful in my day to day work life.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have grown from a basic CNC Operator, to a Back Up Cell Leader, to a Cell Leader. In this time I have learnt countless job roles and also many skills related to managing people.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is well structured. there was some confusion because Hawk changed to a different training platform mid way through my apprenticeship but I have managed to keep on track with little issue.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer fully supports my training. Giving me the time to work on it during paid hours and offering me the additional internal training I require for my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I don't get too much support from my tutor specifically. He is there for me if I need him but the training provided is all pretty self explanatory and I haven't really struggled with any of the work so I haven't needed too much support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
A massive amount. Learning things like time management and how to deal with difficult situations/people are things that I use all the time in my job role. the majority of content on this course relates directly to what I do at work so it is very useful.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there are many activities, fun days and events held by Lisi that bring the workforce together and also help local charities and sports teams etc.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Lisi Aerospace to a friend?
Yes
Why?
If you have a strong work ethic this company will support you all the way and give you what you need to move up the ladder and with even basic roles having a reasonable pay level it is an excellent company to start or continue a career in engineering.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lisi Aerospace?
Don't come to your interview for an operator role and talk about aspirations for moving in to management. It is more than possible within this company (believe me I have done it) but it is off putting for managers interviewing for operator roles because those are the roles we are trying to fill, not the roles above that in the ladder. It leads us to think that if we give you the job you will immediately be pushing for job role changes when we realistically need someone to put a few years in to a role first.
