Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As i have taken a Part M career path, my day-to-day is arriving in the office joining my daily meetings. Learning new things within my role and completing the tasks i have been set that day. I go and visit different locations on base and speak to the customers.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I am enjoying the second year of my apprenticeship a lot more than the first, as I am in a true working environment and I am treat like a employee and not a school child. Which makes me feel like i am a more valued member of the team I am working within.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have become confident on using excel and similar applications. I have also learnt how to conduct a precise meeting agenda and then complete the meeting on time with all topics answered. I have become more competent on speaking professionally to our customers and producing respectful emails.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
It is somewhat organised as the plan of what I will be doing in both years is set in stone and hasn't changed. However, when it comes to the transition from the 1st year placement to the 2nd year placement it is extremely unorganised and unprofessional. The management expect young adults fresh into the working world to navigate their way around an RAF base when they have never seen it before. Leaving their apprentices lost on base trying to find where they should be/where to park. As it is an RAF base security is high and not knowing this information could lead to their apprentices finding themselves somewhere they shouldn't be resulting in being escorted somewhere/getting in trouble. Another thing this causes is apprentices being late to their placements on the first day resulting in a bad impression being made. The apprenticeship providers need to us their communication skills better when speaking to A. the apprentices and B. the people who will be looking after the apprentices in the second year. Hopefully this will make apprentices less nervous to move onto base as everything is clear to what will be happening and will also make the transition smoother as year 2 supervisors will know what they are doing, when they are doing it, the history if the apprentice and how much the apprentice knows before they arrive.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
1/5
Support is minimal, and chosen who to support and when to support them.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
