Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Upon starting the apprenticeship i have learnt about safety inside of workshops which involves what PPE to wear, how to safety operate machines, how to safely collaborate and work along side others. I have also learnt how to weld, burn, grind and gouge metal.

Structure and Support

the programme i am involved in is very well structured, i am able to fully learn a new skill while only needing to be shown once, practicing these skills over and over again with assistance allows me to quickly learn and succeed, i can tell everything has been carefully sorted out and selected.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I do not need a lot of support in my apprenticeship but when i do they are always willing to help me learn, they always explain everything the easiest way possible and they allow my to put my thinking skills to the test instead of just blatantly telling me what to do.

when working towards my qualifications my training provider offers a lot of support towards my qualifications only when i need it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

my qualification gives me the correct skills and knowledge to be able to fully understand my position in BAE systems and has helped me become the caulker i am today, my qualification has helped me immensely.
