Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

The role as a trials and commissioning engineer would be to set to work and commission all the major pieces of equipment that would be getting used on the ship.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy this apprenticeship so far, do all the stuff that interests me and would like to get better at doing in the future.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yeah I have learned new IT skills that I never had before, be able to be more adaptive to new situations tat might happen when doing tasks.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The apprenticeship is structured out well from where you will be and how long you will be in certain departments.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive alot of support from my employer, if you need any help on something they are quick to help you, when it comes to all different types of things.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Yes get alot of support from my lecturers at college, easy to ask them questions you seem to struggle on.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Yeah alot of the things that we do at college translates over really well to the apprenticeship.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yeah there's night outs that we all go to and they are a good night with everyone.

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because it's a good company to work for and plenty of opportunities if you decided you did want something different.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
The tip I would give is to know that it will take a bit of getting used to the terminology of things, different acronyms.
