Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Manufacturing technician involves problem solving between the office and shop floor. My projects involve access studies , testing and reporting of new technologies , build line support and various other tasks. I consistently interact with various departments attend meetings with professional staff and operators. I'm given my own projects to work through and contribute to the project.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy coming to work everyday , I would highly recommend this apprenticeship to any aspiring engineers.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I've definitely developed over the apprenticeship , with confidence , professional skills . Ability to problem solve and deal with complex issues in the workshop.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
For the most part the course is very well structured , spending your first year in the training school and moving placements every 4 months. sometimes there is a disconnect between the early careers team and the business which makes the placements a little difficult.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
There is a lots of support for any and every issue , this is both in college work and placement work. Members of staff in my placement are always mentoring and providing guidance and The apprenticeship offers lots of help with any problems.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The training is done in company which means there is a lot of available support. Sometimes there aren't enough teaching staff which results in rushed deadlines and a poorer quality of delivery.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
I wouldn't say my qualification makes me a better engineer , most of my learning and development has come from working in my role as an engineer.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are a few activities , mostly organised by people within the company and aren't company endorsed events , such as social events sports teams.
