Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
when i'm in work my daily task is to carry on with whichever task i am doing, so i am currently doing my phase one so i do a lot of grinding, burning out, marking out
i am responsible for my work area to keep it tidy
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
i have my days where i enjoy it a lot and then also have the days where i don't really enjoy it but it all depends on my mental health, which i think a lot of people can struggle to enjoy stuff when they're feeling mentally exhausted. it's been good to learn new skills and progress in it.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
i have learnt a lot of new skills within my role as i haven't done this type of work before joining BAE, in college we learnt a lot about sheet metal work rather than steelwork

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
the college part i would say isn't well organised, but that's down to Furness College not bae systems. i think this because of some tutors we have not understanding the work we're meant to be doing and marking criteria gets changed to fit his standards rather than what the standards actually are
the Bae side of things is well organised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I've had problems in the past but i know now my employer is there when i need them and will do anything they can to help. i know how to contact for support if i need it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
we have 12 weekly reviews with our skills coaches to see how we're getting on.
we can also receive help off our team leaders in the workshop if we need it
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
in the workshop it's really helps as we are being shown but then the standards they want it to i don't think helps as sometime's it can take a long time to get to their standard.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
yes, but i don't.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
BAE makes barrow, barrow. It can be a stressful work day but it is also a very rewarding job to do.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
apply for something you want to do, if your offered a different job role, take it because you learn the job whilst doing it. keep your head down and work.
