Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Setting to work meeting, and carrying out various jobs from graphite core projects to RPE projects, as well as completing college work for my portfolio and completing college modules. I also take part in STEM events and promote the company to schools, colleges, universities etc.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my apprenticeship and would recommend an apprenticeship to anyone as you can earn and learn! The college side wasn't the best in the first 2 years but my company supported me and ensured I got the support I needed and the problems were sorted.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt and developed knowledge in various level 3 modules at college and have learnt many new skills at the workplace like soldering, wiring, looming, crimping, testing products etc.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

There is room for improvement with the structure of my apprenticeship and the college courses need to be more clarified which is being progressed now and will be updated and ran as expected for the upcoming apprentices.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive support from my mentor and work colleagues. Some college tutors are more helpful than others and have been in the past and my manager is there if and when I need them.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

If I ever need support with my qualifications from my workplace, everyone is more than welcome to help me, work through things with me and support me. College are not the best with this but since moving colleges I have had a better experience.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel like the people in the workplace have my best interests and want to help and support me which increases my motivation levels and encourages me to perform to the best of my ability.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Since starting, I have encouraged the team to go on more social events in which everyone has been included and have enjoyed. We do this every few months now and have had positive words about bringing teams together. I also am a STEM ambassador and work closely with schools and colleges to promote the company and apprenticeships and there are various networking events that you can get involved with.

Why?
Cavendish Nuclear is a successful and positive company. They are always constantly working towards goals and have amazing values, they support people in the best ways they can and can recognise their rooms for improvement and have noticeably enhanced in some of those areas. They offer a wide range of apprenticeships, which I would recommend to everyone.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cavendish Nuclear?
If you are wanting to apply for an apprenticeship, I would start as soon as you can and try and get as much work experience as you can beforehand. Make sure to express your interests and do some research on the company first.
