Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a second year apprentice, Throughout this year I have been sent sent to a number of different placements throughout the different departments of the BAE Rochester site, and have been able to experience a wide variety of potential job roles for my future career at BAE. I am also attending college every Monday.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I greatly enjoy the programme on offer here, and am satisfied with the variety of placements, the work I am given and the people I work with.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned a wide variety of practical, social and academic skills through my placements and my time at the college.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well structured overall, however the workload and support you receive is highly dependent on the placements you receive.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have no issues with the amount of support that is provided by my employer, any problems I have are solved quickly.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We receive a good amount of support from our training provider, however sometimes the support we receive could be clearer and given quicker.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The usefulness of the skills we learn throughout the qualification varies depending on where in the company you are working at the time. Most of the skills we learn such as soldering and fault finding are essential for working at BAE systems, however other skills are only useful for specific tasks within certain placements.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

The company has a range of clubs and extra curricular activities are available, such as going to STEM related events to represent BAE.
