Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I'm an apprentice software engineer. As part of my apprenticeship I move around placements every few months and tackle new and interesting challenges every day, both at work and university.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoy my programme.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
My programming skills have developed exponentially along side soft skills like communication, time management, independence, and more.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
In such a large organisation there are a few oversights every now and then, but the bulk of the course is very well organised and structured.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
As much as they can.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
UClan course quality is middling. Sometimes their content and lecturers are really good, other times the opposite. The basic content is still there however, and some of it has been useful in my work-place.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I have used quite a bit of what has been covered within some placements and day-to-day work tasks.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I'm a STEM Ambassador.
