Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I mostly work doing trainee solicitor-level tasks. I am currently sitting in Corporate Transactions which involves supporting senior colleagues on all elements of the M&A process such as conducting due diligence and liaising with other teams to get their specialist input, drafting ancillary documents and proof-reading drafts.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I think the programme is the perfect balance between work and study. Both elements are manageable with the day off per week allocated for study.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
In my role, you work on mutliple transactions at one time so prioritisation and organisational skills are key as well as effective communication both internally and externally about timing expectations.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Considering we are the first cohort of graduate apprentices, it is very well organised and structured with multiple check-ins every few weeks from the various people involved in your development. The induction process is great and you meet the trainee cohort too.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots of support - in terms of studying, reasonable adjustments, anything you need really.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
A fair amount - the learning is all delivered online with most of it being self-study which can be challenging. However, the support from the skills coaches is great.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
100% - it is necessary.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Lots - too many to choose from.

Yes

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to CMS?
