Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I currently deal with managing monthly deliverables within the project accounting teams on our major programmes, this includes reports that go to higher ups who approve based on the reports
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy it majority of the time, there are times where I wish I wasn't working which I think is natural but I can count on one hand how many times I have not wanted to be working due to the work. It has been an enjoyable experience so far.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned lots of skills but one that sticks out is my communication skills, I have been given more opportunities to speak to larger audiences and be part of things outside of the day to day job.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Not well structured as I was the first in my apprenticeship in Glasgow so I am very much the guinea pig for the way things go which I am happy to be if it means people after are better. I would say there are some things that I question daily about my apprenticeship structure which I believe is a learning process for the company
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive lots of support when required and they understand that I am here to learn and work rather than work and are very accommodating.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Just about the right amount, I have lots of materials to work with and good teachers but there are some processes that I don't agree with personally
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It gives me the understanding behind the work I do, rather than just doing it because it gets done. It also gives me a path to go on for new work or problems I face, I can take it from the learning side rather than the working side.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are events every year that I attend and meet new people at. I am also part of the apprentice council which has opened the door to numerous oppurtunities.
Recommendations & Advice
Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because it is a company that want to develop their workers and understand that we are the future. They are also located everywhere so there is opportunities to work away if you want. The pay is also pretty decent and the people are really good. They are also a company that work in the future as they have work for the next decade therefore there is a job there for you for at least the next 10 years
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Be yourself and understand that not everyone will like your choice but know that the company gives you a platform to launch your career and there is no spite if you choose to leave and they understand that sometimes to progress, you need to leave which makes them even better as they provide more as they want to keep you.
