Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Completing diploma work and uni work alongside placement work. This involves sitting with my team in the office and completing tasks that are given to me by my placement manager. Occasionally there may be opportunities to travel to different sites or RAF bases or Vendors.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
It has a good structure and the work environment is very positive. There is support from skills coaches and uni lecturers are usually available to help outside of lectures.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Developed coding in Python as well as my fluency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
There is a clear timeline for the structure of the apprenticeship, although the future cohorts are undergoing some changes. Placement structure needs improvement however, but I am aware the problem has been highlighted.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A good amount of support is provided.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
Few lecturers will provide good support. Assignments can sometimes take months to be marked and lecturers are often difficult to understand.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I learn more on the job than at University, however, all of the material I have learnt has been applicable in the workplace.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
I am vice chair of the local apprentice council who participate in organising apprentice events, however more support from the business should be encouraged.
