Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

General admin- I specialise in the procurement function. My current placement looks into the clearning of invoices looking into rootcauses using excel.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the scheme, however you cannot change what function you get placed into e.g. commercial or PM. This is slightly limiting but overall a great scheme!
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

A lot of IT skills have been improved, massively Excel! I have learnt how to be more professional and communicate better within a corporate setting.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I feel the scheme is very well organised, as soon as you start you get your scheme of work highlighting the outline of your 2 years.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

You receive a lot of support, I relocated for this apprenticeship and have 1-to-1's with my skills coach to check on wellbeing.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Unsure of this, I feel all the support i have had has come from BAE through my skills coach who helps massively.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel the work we do in our 'college days' helps us to understand the wider business and general information. Whereas, in our placements we do specific work related to the function we are put into.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I am apart of the Royal Aeronautical Society which is based at BAE Warton. However, apprentice-wise there is nothing in place social-wise.

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a great company to work for with excellent career progression prospects. It is a business where you can relocate or go on secondments with the chance to network with professionals within the work environment.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Make sure you do your research on the company beforehand, answer exam questions in the STAR method and think of examples of times when you e.g. shown leadership making it relevant to the position you are applying for.
