Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role entails the day to day learning process of becoming a qualified subs electrician. Learning things from regulation surrounding health and safety and the more hands on practical skills.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the prospect of the opportunities completing this apprenticeship will provide once my apprenticeship is complete.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I would say being 27 I have developed on existing skills and reinforced knowledge previously learned.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Structured well
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive overwhelming support from my employer. They have many outlets for mental health support. Offer financial support to people relocating to be apart of the business among many other amenities
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive plenty of support from tutors at Furness college, consistently providing feedback to us apprentices on a daily basis on the things that we do well and the areas that could do with improvement.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I'm not too sure I'm qualified to answer that question yet. I am currently in the training phase where people are learning basic tool handling skills that yes will be applicable to our role in the future but currently it's a different thing entirely to the role we will be performing once completion of the apprenticeship
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There has been a few to date. BAE provide a work week long experience in the lakes that they call outward bound. It is a team building exercise where you work with other apprentices across your year group to complete physical tasks and support each other mentally through the tough times to form stronger relationships than can translate into the business. That was enjoyable

Yes

BAE systems is a fantastic company to work for. Providing financial stability, job security with their latest contract with Australia and an abundance of avenues and opportunities for progression and development throughout the business. Working for BAE is a privilege I fought hard to achieve and I would recommend working for them to anybody.

Be yourself. Be prepared. Take a bottle of water to sip before answering your interview questions.
