Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a daily basis I shadow engineers on there job roles and help them undertake jobs and tasks within different engineering departs around site.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed seeing range of jobs, tasks and careers within different engineering disciplines.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have gained a lot of new skills while undertaking my apprenticeship such as electrical and electronic principles, the use of electrical equipment and other skills like presenting skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is very well put together with and year off site at a training centre to get a base knowledge of understanding then a year of placement rotations where I am able to see the wide range of careers possible with engineering then a finale working within a chosen placement.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I can receive as much support as need ! As I am dyslexic I was able to be given a spell checker and spech to text program to assist me.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The training centre does help out however, sometimes you do need to really push for it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification has helped to ensure that I have a base knowledge of understanding before returning to site.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Through the apprenticeship I was able to apply for the IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) which has allowed me to go to networking events and webinars.
