Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Currently I’m just at college 5 days a week getting all the relevant work I need to before I can go into sask. this involves making things in the workshop aswell as doing assignments and coursework.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I do enjoy what I am currently doing as it is something new and interesting as I get to work with my hands which I do enjoy. There is lots of time I have to spend at college which I do not enjoy as much

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes I’ve gained lots of new skills that I didn’t previously have as I have not only learnt physical skills like how to operate a lathe and a drill but also skills like working out certain calculations

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Certain parts could do with improving as I feel like there are certain things people want to know but don’t get told. When at college we do seem to get told about the college work we need to do but the information can be lacking in relation to transitioning into sask
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I get plenty of support from the people in charge of overseeing me and I always know if I have an issue I can go and get it sorted out aswell as any relevant information that I would like to know.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
So far due to me being just at college I have only been trained by the college tutors but they always help when I need help which can be hard as there is quite a lot of students they have to look after
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
As I am a driller I think that college could do more drilling based work for me especially but they have tought me the basics about my job
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
There are but non that really interest me
