Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I spend the day shadowing a more experienced fabricator. A lot of the work is replacing metal that has rusted away, but also outfitting compartments with new units, changing out venting, prepping for welders and correcting welds.a

I’ve learnt how to grind, oxy-fuel and plasma burn, sheet work, outfitting, read engineering drawings and other more miscellaneous skills.

We receive plenty of support, the apprentice development advisors are really helpful and I’ve never had an issue
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We have meeting with our assessors often, who will guide us in our coursework and how to approach it. I’ve never had an issue with this
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Babcock International Group?
Try and apply as early as possible for the interview, and make the most of a full year in college, as it’s really useful for doing coursework
