Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a machinist in the first year where I have been in college full time. It involves turning and hand fitting in the workshop for half the week and other lessons are in classrooms doing subjects such as health and safety, business, CAD, materials and much more.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I agree that I am enjoying my apprenticeship however the training provider lets it down. Looking forward to being in the business without training provider though

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Learnt all new skills in workshop which I didn’t know before. Learnt about standards and regulations which I need for the role.

There is support in all areas if you need it. Also receive progress reviews every 12 weeks

Support is there however it isn’t utilised best as we have to do our own research most of the time

It is giving us a base to start from so it is helpful when starting the role

Choose something you are interested in and you will enjoy it. Make the most of the opportunity given to you because there isn’t much opportunity like this in the area
