Providing oversight into high-value bids and projects in the defence sector. Contributing to project and product development whilst learning core project management processes within projects, programmes and portfolios.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The apprenticeship scheme is a great opportunity to learn with others whilst contributing to important work in defence. It is very enjoyable due to the great scope of work that we can get involved in.

The scheme is very well organised and the structure is made clear by the Early Careers team from day one

We receive a wealth of support in our learning, work and wellbeing in frequent progress reviews and who we can reach out to for further support is made very clear.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Our training provider equips us with learning support tailored to our current work and personal commitments to ensure that we pass examinations and gain qualifications to the highest standard
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

There are a wealth of STRETCH opportunities to get involved with such as organising sports clubs, social events and projects outside of your daily work that can enable apprentices to enrich their knowledge and deal with a wide range of external stakeholders

I have gained a great sense of belonging with BAE Systems from the opportunities my apprenticeship has equipped me with; from making new friends to leading key projects within important programmes, I feel a great sense of achievement
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Do your research on the company - it doesn't have to be specific to the area you are applying to, as long as you show interest in the business itself. Be yourself and as long as you show a good level in interest in your scheme, it will allow you to go far
