Non destructive testing engineer Review

My role is a 50:50 between office work and on the job training. When I am out on a job, I am testing welded plates and the actual welds themselves using different and very interesting methods. In the office I am writing reports to say whether it has passed or failed.

My job as an apprenticeship hasn’t been a program for very long and I am part of the second year of apprentices within NDT. I think this is well organized and they always make sure we have something to do and aren’t sat around not doing anything.

I recieve a lot of support from my employer and also my colleague's. This is really nice as being in my first year building up to my first qualifications it is really comforting to know that if I am revising and don’t understand something and/or need any help they are always happy to help.

I fell like I am getting a really nice amount of support we have all the resources we need and our mentor is always happy to set up a quick teams call if we are stuck with something or need something to be re-explained.

I feel that having a qualification will help me perform better as I will have the proper required training to do my job which will allow me to feel more confident to complete jobs.

I feel that working here is very beneficial as all the courses and college is all set for you a you get told days and times to be there it is just your responsibility to turn up. As well as all the knowledge and qualifications you finish with.
