Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a Level 3 NDT apprentice and day to day I spend time out on jobs learning practically but also spend time in the office revising and practicing how to write reports.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the 50/50 balance of my job role being half on the job and half off the job.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have started to learn how to do my fist NDT method and learning about weld types and weld profiles that I never new anything about before.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I think that my program is very well structured. I have a timeline of everything that I will be doing/ learning every month of my apprentice
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive lots of support from my employer, any question or queries I have always get answered and if I need any support I can always get it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have one 3h session a month from my training provider but if I am ever unsure about something I can send my tutor an email and he will arrange a teams call to discuss it as soon as possible.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification allows me to be able to independently pass and fail weld defects and discontinuities which will allow me to not have to rely on others in the team
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I am currently part of the STEMAZING program which empowers woman in STEM to speak out as well as deliver STEM sessions to local primary schools.
