Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
this ranges based on what work currently needs doing in the plant in terms of maintenance. this involves planning and carrying out maintenance activities and also looking at ways to improve processes and try to prevent future breakdowns. much of the jobs are preventative maintenance jobs as these can often be small things that need doing little and often.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I highly enjoy my programme as when I come into work I am able to do something new each day. however, i also have my own projects which i can work on therefore it gives me a diverse workload. the people on the programme are very good and i find them to be likeminded.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
i have learned many new skills and continued to develop skills i already had before. you are always learning new things daily as you tend to have different experiences everyday. i have developed my networking skills much more than i thought i would, as i have been able to take part in many extra curricular activities.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
There is significant room for improvement in this aspect. Most often then not there are complications with content of work or general organisation on the colleges side. the workplace is much better as there are always jobs planned however i have found some problems regarding the communication of managers and apprentices. more often than not the mentors do not know about placements, objectives and future apprentices/ change overs because there is no communication to them from management.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
the amount of support that i recieve from the employer is ample however the effectiveness of this support isnt always the best. however this needs to be considered against other factors such as the college and the other people in the apprenticeship. support is offered when asked for but there is not often check ups or personal conversations regarding the fact.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
the support is very limited. the communication is poor and there have been times where we have waited months for the release of content towards a subject. given the limited amount of tutors there is not much support for individuals and we are not kept informed when problems regarding our learning are found or being amended.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
i feel this qualification supports my role heavily as the content is heavily relevant to what happens in the workplace. there are both practical and theory methods which i have already began to implement into the work place and i have used many skills learned on the course when carrying out my work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
there are extra curricular activities such as sporting events, charity involvement, networking events, careers fairs and UK plant tours.
