Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
In furness college I get to learn about basic metal fabrication skills as well as various tools that I will use within my job. This also carries over into the classroom to learn about the theory side to my job and health and safety.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have enjoyed most of my apprenticeship so far and got to meet some good people and tutors. The hardest part being learning in a classroom after being away from one for so long.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Within the workshop I have learnt how to use the basic skills which involve hand tools, big metal cutting machines and welding and burning skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Withing the college they have struggled in the beginning to provide my class with workshop tutors which has not helped, but over time it has got better and we do get tutors. Bae as a employer has done there best to help us get the best help but sometimes it's hard for them too unfortunately.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
BAE as an employer have been really good and helped me with updates on what I will be doing throughout my time in my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
The college as a whole did not provide us with all the help in the beginning of our time here as they struggle to find a tutor as there was not enough of them free at the time.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I got invited to get involved in the companies podcast team.
