I support colleagues to improve the services they deliver to a huge range of society. I do this through collecting data in a variety of formats to inform higher level decision making and offer upskilling to colleagues across the organisation
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The programme is challenging me to think in different ways about my own approach to work and I'm enjoying being able to apply my skills and knowledge in to my work

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

With my apprenticeship, I have been learning new skills in strategic thinking and implementing innovation to make change land. Nobody likes change, but I am learning ways to deliver change that actually works

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Generally speaking, it's settling down but the induction phase about expectations around processes and logging learning could have been smoother
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer has been great, my line manager is very supportive of my learning and I'm able to bring new ideas straight off the paper and into real life
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The ongoing support from the training provider has been very good now that I've found my rhythm. I didn't know where to look for the help when I first started, but after a few months things have been good
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

In my current role the learning and the qualification has given a really positive impact to my performance
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, there are social clubs and additional activities available, along with discount scheme and wellbeing support available when life throws unexpected curveballs

Why?
Working as a civil servant brings its challenges that aren't right for everyone, but there are more good days than bad days and I enjoy that my work is ultimately making a positive difference to others
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Department for Work and Pensions?
Some elements are very fast paced and change is constant. However, there are some areas where change is long overdue. Consider if this is right for you. Opportunities do exist to push yourself but you will need to look for them and apply yourself - making it even more rewarding when you get there
