Involves supporting the management of contracts, attending meetings and training days.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It varies from placement to placement. I really enjoyed my first 2 placements, however, disliked my third as I did not have much work to do and did not feel supported by my team.

I have developed both professionally and personally. I have become more confident.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The College side of the apprenticeship is well organised. In terms of work, the placements are at times not organised very well. Feels rushed. Should be proper structure of placements set out at beginning.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

We are given 1 day off a week to complete college asssignments.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We receive lots of support and guidance from college lecturer and assessor.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I do not think the qualification has any relevance to my day to day role.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I am part of the STEM Network. However, I do feel that the social side is lacking and can feel isolating at times, despite being in a team.

Would you recommend Babcock International Group to a friend?

Yes

Why?

Great environment to work in with lots of knowledgeable and friendly people. However, home working can be isolating and challenging at times.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Babcock International Group?

Read job description. When I applied, it did not reference that this role would be majority home working. It was a shock when I was told on my first day that people rarely come to the office
